Fiberglass reinforced mono and cross filament tapes for heavy cartons, export packaging, palletizing, appliance packaging, pipe bundling, and industrial dispatch.

When Cartons Open, Edges Burst, or Bundles Shift — Packaging Cost Increases

Plastic strapping damaging carton edges

Strapping may need corner protection, extra tools, and additional handling time.

Heavy cartons opening in transit

Standard packing tape can peel under vibration, load stress, or repeated handling.

Pipes, rods, cables, and parts shifting

Industrial bundles need stronger holding support to reduce loose movement during storage and dispatch.

Export packaging facing long transit stress

Humidity, container movement, and repeated loading can increase packaging failure risk.

Product Overview — What Is Filament Tape?

Industrial adhesion

Suitable for corrugated cartons, selected plastics, metal bundles, and industrial surfaces depending on the grade.

Reinforced strength

Glass fiber reinforcement helps resist tearing and supports heavy-duty packaging applications.

Application flexibility

Used for carton reinforcement, palletizing, bundling, appliance packaging, export packaging, and warehouse dispatch.

Fiberglass Reinforced Tape for Industrial Packaging Strength

Filament tape is a pressure-sensitive reinforced tape with glass fiber reinforcement. It is used for carton reinforcement, box closing, bundling, pallet unitizing, and heavy-duty package support.

It is preferred when normal packing tape does not provide enough tensile strength or tear resistance for heavy cartons, export shipments, industrial bundles, or high-value products. products.

Choose Filament Tape by Load, Surface & Packaging Risk

Heavy Carton Reinforcement

For boxes that open, tear, or need extra edge strength during transit.

Export Packaging

For long-distance movement, container handling, humidity exposure, and repeated loading cycles.

Appliance & Electronics Packaging

For large, high-value cartons that need visible reinforcement without hiding labels or barcodes.

Pipe, Rod, Cable & Profile Bundling

For industrial bundles that shift during handling or storage.

Palletizing & Unitizing

For temporary securing, carton grouping, and added shipment stability before dispatch.

Mono or Cross Filament Tape — Which One Do You Need?

Type

Buyer Guidance

Mono Filament Tape

Lengthwise reinforcement, pipe bundling, rod bundling, cable bundling, economical industrial use

Use when stress is mainly in one direction

Cross Filament Tape

Heavy cartons, palletizing, multi-directional stress, anti-pilferage reinforcement

Use when the package faces stress from multiple directions

Choosing the right filament tape should depend on the load, carton type, surface, handling method, and transit risk. This helps avoid overusing tape or selecting a grade that does not match the packaging failure point.

Where Filament Tape Fits in Your Packaging Process

Option

Best Use

Limitation

BOPP Tape

Standard carton sealing

May fail on heavy, sharp, or high-stress cartons

Filament Tape

Reinforcement, bundling, heavy cartons, export packs

Needs correct grade and width selection

Plastic Strapping

Very heavy loads and pallet securing

Slower, may damage cartons, needs tools or corner protection

Use filament tape when you need stronger reinforcement than standard BOPP tape but want a faster, cleaner alternative for selected strapping applications.

It does not replace all strapping requirements. For very heavy or high-risk loads, strapping may still be required. The right packaging solution depends on load weight, carton strength, handling cycle, and transit risk.

Filament Tape FAQs

Filament tape is used for heavy-duty carton reinforcement, bundling, palletizing, export packaging, appliance packaging, and industrial dispatch where normal packing tape may not be strong enough.

Use filament tape when cartons are heavy, reused, low GSM, sharp-edged, export-bound, or exposed to repeated handling. BOPP tape is suitable for standard carton sealing.

Mono filament tape reinforces mainly in one direction. Cross filament tape provides reinforcement in multiple directions and is better suited for heavy cartons, palletizing, and anti-pilferage reinforcement.

In selected applications, filament tape can reduce dependence on plastic strapping for medium-duty reinforcement or bundling. For very heavy loads, strapping may still be required.

Export packaging usually needs stronger reinforcement based on carton weight, humidity exposure, container movement, and handling cycle. Cross filament tape is often preferred for multi-directional stress, but final selection should be application-based.

It can work on recycled cartons depending on surface quality, dust level, carton strength, adhesive grade, and pressure applied during application.

Common widths include 24mm and 48mm, but selection depends on carton size, load weight, closure pattern, and reinforcement area.

Yes. Sample-based selection is recommended for industrial packaging teams so the tape can be tested in actual packing and transit conditions.

Residue behaviour depends on adhesive grade, surface type, application time, and removal condition. For appliance or painted surfaces, the grade should be selected carefully.

Share your carton weight, surface, current failure issue, monthly usage, and packing method. Stronghold can recommend mono or cross filament options based on the application.
